1917: Total War, the impact on Hampton Wick

Friday 8th December 6.15pm

The Friends of Hampton Wick Library are pleased to present a new talk by Alison Merrington based on her continuing researches into the World War 1 soldiers commemorated on Hampton Wick’s war memorial and their families. Her work has extended to cover all aspects of life in and around Hampton Wick during the Great War.

In this latest talk Alison will cover the impact of unlimited submarine war are on the home front, as well as more local issues including the turf wars between Hampton Wick and Teddington.

Our evening on 8th December will start at 6.15pm with drinks in the Library and a chance to view the current exhibition of words and pictures celebrating autumn and winter. The talk will start at 7.15pm in Bullen Hall, followed by Q&A with Alison.

Tickets: £5. Friends and their guests £4.
Includes glass of wine, beer or soft drink and contribution towards hall hire costs.
